This is the hard-to-find Little Red Riding Hood storybook doll bookcase stand by Russell Mfg. Co., Leicester, Mass. (circa 1935-1946), complete with 4 original Big Little card games.
You almost never find the stand intact — most people only have the little matchbox games. This lithographed wood-composite display features a sweet die-cut Red Riding Hood holding her basket in the forest, with two painted wood shelves designed to hold the library like real books.
A true double-duty piece: vintage toy ephemera and instant nursery / bookshelf styling.
Includes 4 Volumes:
Vol. II GAME OF AUTHORS
Vol. III GAME OF DR. QUACK
Vol. IV GAME OF SLAP JACK
Vol. V ANIMAL RUMMY
Each "book" is a matchbox-style card game — sleeve slides off to reveal the card drawer inside.
