A classic pair of heavy cast iron bookends featuring the Three Wise Monkeys - Speak No Evil, See No Evil, Hear No Evil.

Each bookend depicts three seated monkeys covering mouth, eyes, and ears. The oval base is inscribed "SPEAK SEE HEAR NO EVIL" in original gilt lettering and marked with a circled P foundry mark.

Cast in solid iron with a wonderful dark bronze patina, rust bloom and aged wear that gives them perfect character. Heavy, functional, and sculptural.

In the style of the original Bradley & Hubbard bookends from the early 1900s. This pair is a later 20th century reproduction.
