A rare Victorian-era artists’ watercolour paint box by Winsor & Newton, dating to the late 19th century.
Crafted in polished wood, this box retains its original blue and gilt interior label marked 38 Rathbone Place, London, an address used by Winsor & Newton during the mid–late Victorian period. Inside, the fitted interior still holds its original rectangular pigment cakes, displaying beautifully aged, time-softened colours.
An increasingly scarce survival and a wonderful example of historic artists’ materials—ideal for collectors, painters, or as a display piece in a studio or library.
