Rare Edwardian English kitchenalia.
This is Grimwade's patented "Quick-Cooker" steamed pudding basin with its original lid, made in Stoke-on-Trent, England. Circa 1911. Made in finest English Ironstone china with crisp green transferware advertising.
The clever design features a central funnel to cook from the center out, so "no pudding cloth required." The lid is covered in the original instructions for creating a watertight seal: "place a small piece of pastry or dough in hollow here... a roll of soft bread put in the groove will serve equally well."
