This oval ironstone platter dates to the late 1920s / early 1930s, from the golden age of American restaurant ware. The soft white body is decorated with four trailing swags of pink roses and tiny blue forget-me-nots, framed by a scalloped inner edge and a bold outer Art Deco band in cobalt blue, chocolate brown, and mustard.
The perfect catchall for your dresser, a soap dish, or a sweet serving dish for morning toast. The crazing and faint speckling is exactly what we love to see in century-old ironstone.
Found in wonderful condition for its age, with that chippy whitewashed backdrop it was made for.
