A charming piece of French art history!

This is an original Pierrefeu Paris "Couleurs Sans Danger" (Safe Colors) children's watercolour palette, circa 1930s-1940s.

Made in France, the palette is die-cut cardboard in the classic artist palette shape, with 7 solid watercolor cakes still held in place, each embossed PIERREFEU PARIS. Includes its original tiny natural bristle brush, held by its metal loop.

Colours included:

Jaune d'Or (golden yellow), Vert Foncé (dark green), Outremer (ultramarine), Ocre (ochre), Carmin (carmine red), Sienne Brûlée (burnt sienna), and Blanc (white).

The center features the wonderful graphic in French racing green: COULEURS SANS DANGER PIERREFEU PARIS.

Perfect for display in a studio, art room, craft cabinet, or styled on a gallery wall. A rare and highly collectible find for lovers of French ephemera and vintage art supplies.

Condition: Good vintage condition with beautiful patina. Cardboard shows light age toning and wear consistent with age, as shown. Paints show some use/wear, some minor crumbling - Ocre has a small chip, Jaune d'Or has a touch of residue. Brush is original with rustic patina to ferrule.

Measures:  6”l x 4-1/2”h
