A petite French jewel of a box — pure romance for a vanity or bedside!
This antique ormolu casket dates to the late 19th century, circa 1890-1910, in the Louis XV revival / Art Nouveau style. Cast in gilt bronze with a beautifully worn, soft gold patina, it stands on four cabriole feet and is adorned with trailing roses, foliage and a tied bow at the crest.
The hinged lid opens to reveal its original pale celadon silk lining — softly pillowed top and bottom with white rope trim. Perfect for rings, earrings, or a single treasured keepsake.
