An exceptional antique cast iron desk embossing seal press for the United Fish Company Ltd., Antigua, Leeward Islands.
This is the heavy, countertop corporate seal that would have lived in the company's office in St. John's, Antigua — used to emboss share certificates, deeds, and export documents with an official raised seal.
The press is American-made, circa 1890-1915, in classic black japanned cast iron with original hand-painted gold pinstriping and its iconic red shooting star. The long, curved lever and solid brass die housing are exactly what collectors look for.
A wonderful piece of Caribbean mercantile history — small colonial companies like this are incredibly hard to find with their original seal intact. Perfect for a desk, office display, or as part of a collection of notary, legal, and maritime antiques.
