A quiet piece of Belgian history, brought home from Bruges.

This small antique oil on board depicts a whitewashed farmhouse with a thatched roof and sage green shutters, nestled among tall trees - a classic Flemish countryside scene. Dated 1912 and signed "W.R." lower right.

Painted in soft, impressionistic brushwork with layered greens and warm cream tones, it has that hazy, late-summer light that Belgian landscape painters captured so well. The canvas is mounted with its original pine strainer and hand-forged tacks, untouched on the back as found.

Perfect for a cottage, moody gallery wall, bookshelf styling, or layered in a kitchen.
