A beautiful early 1930s 8-inch terrestrial table globe by Weber Costello Co.

This is the classic New Peerless 8 Inch Globe with the dark wood Art Deco base and full metal meridian with degree scale. Cartouche reads: NEW PEERLESS 8 INCH GLOBE / TERRESTRIAL GLOBE / WEBER COSTELLO CO. / CHICAGO HEIGHTS, ILL. - the same cartouche used on their c.1930s models.

Stunning color - mustard yellow continents, aqua / seafoam oceans, with wonderful period details showing the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, Persia, Siam, and Africa.

Dating:

Dated by cartography: Persia (becomes Iran in 1935) and Siam (1939 to Thailand) with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia shown (independent in 1932). Puts this globe at 1932-1935, circa 1933.
