A rare and historically significant late-19th to early-20th century antique Victorian-era missionary donation box produced for the St Joseph’s Society for Foreign Missions, commonly known as the Mill Hill Missionaries.

The front panel features a powerful missionary scene beneath the crucified Christ, with figures gathered in a tropical landscape. Along the lower border appears the biblical verse:

“Go ye into the whole world and preach the Gospel to every creature”

— Mark 16:15

Boxes such as this were produced for churches, schools, and private homes to collect donations supporting overseas missionary work. Both the imagery and verse reflect the religious and colonial worldview of the Victorian and Edwardian periods, making this an important artifact of its time.
