• Capacity: Marked "60" - this is the 60 pound counter size used in general stores
• Era: Circa 1890-1910, Victorian lithographed gold lettering on black
• Maker: Christie, Brown & Co. Limited, Biscuit Manufacturers, Toronto, Canada — founders of the "Mr. Christie" brand
• Condition: Excellent antique patina. Shows wear, paint loss, and edge rust consistent with age and use. Structurally solid. Rich, untouched surface that collectors prize. Original paper label remnants: large portions of the original paper label are still intact around the sides.
History: Before packaged cookies, stores bought biscuits in bulk. This tin sat on the counter and advertised Christie, Brown while holding 60 lbs of fresh biscuits. Clerks scooped them into bags for customers. These large tins are much scarcer than small household versions.
